About

KIC LOGO 1KIC is a Church Family of English-speaking believers who love God and want to become more like Jesus by God’s grace and love. We invite you to come and feel the love and growth of spirit. It is all for His glory, to increase His fame in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Description

We gather together on Sundays at 4:30 PM to celebrate God & what He has done as the Creator, Provider and Sustainer of our lives. We sing & praise Him, listen to relevant teachings from the Bible, then fellowship together in many different ways!

We are a family that worship God with all our hearts and spirit. We believe in worshipping completely & totally in full surrender to God alone. We are passionate worshipping Him with our hearts, our minds, & our spirits — our total person!

In our congregation you will find Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Pentecostals, Reformed, Non-Denominational, along with others. All are welcome. We are Christians of God’s whole church— brothers & sisters in Christ who are all searching for the real, authentic life in God found only through Jesus Christ.

We do not have all the answers, but God does, and our journey with Him isn’t over yet. We believe that we exist to help believers find their purpose and destiny in God. If you just want to relax, enjoy the coffee, the tea, and the friendship & ‘check us out’ for a while then we are just happy to have you with us. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Core Values
(1) The Bible is inerrant in the original manuscripts and is the foundation for our faith and practice.
(2) God is one, eternal, timeless, and everywhere. He created all things and then lived in His creation as Jesus Christ. Christ, through His sacrifice, is the only path to salvation by Grace through Faith. The power of His Holy Spirit is essential for life-change and fruitfulness. All believers should seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
(3) Servant-leadership (humility and sacrifice) must be modeled by everyone involved in leadership of the church. Love and personal warmth should be modeled by the leadership and permeate all church activites and relationships. The first shall be last and the last shall be first; those who try to find their life will lose it, and those who give up their life shall find it in Christ.

Statement of Faith:
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and the absolute standard by which we measure all things.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is empowered to be a witness for Christ and is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are also in agreement with other major Christian faith statements such as the Apostles Creed and more recent faith statements made by orthodox, evangelical, Protestant bodies of Christians.

Purpose
(1) Evangelism
(2) Discipleship
(3) Equipping Leadership
(4) Missions
(5) Inner Healing/Deliverance/Counseling

  2. What plans do you have to witness and affect those attending AIESEC Youth International Congress in Kaoshiung, August 23 I believe. So little info even on net, let the church be present as Jesus is for all!!!

    • What will you be doing? Please let us know what other churches are planning. Tell us more about the event and what the church’s response to it should be.

  3. WE might be in the Kaohsiung area soon and would like to drop in and see you. We are Awana Missionaries; are you familiar with the Awana ministry? We would like to share how it can be useful to grow your church and reach out to the community. We will let you know when our plans are made.

    • HELLO! Did we meet at TMF this last month? Perhaps so. KIC is currently very small with few young people, but we would be interested in having you visit. I am familiar with Awana Ministries and approve! But I am worried that your time here might be better spend contacting one of the churches that has more Children. I can suggest BCC (Kaohsiung Bilingual Church) of which we are a sister congregation, and New Life Church (a southern baptist church) which may already be aware of Awanas as well. However, please feel welcome to visit! Perhaps you can inspire some of my folks to begin preparation for a youth outreach. Please email me directly at michaelhaggard@mac.com

    • Hi Barbara. I am sorry but KIC does not have a youth group. We have very few members with children and the ones we have are under age. However, we are affiliated with Bilingual Community Church and they have a very active youth group and young adults group! Check out : http://www.bilingualchurch.com in look around. KIC and BCC are sister churches in the process of merging our fellowships.

Let me know if I can introduce you to anyone in the youth group here.

  7. hello Pastor,

I am going to attend National Sun-Yat sen University in January for three weeks to try to learn basic mandarin. I will stay at a hotel nearer to the University than your church location. are there English speaking Christian churches, like yours, nearer to that university? thank you, Dwight

    • Hi Dwight,
The closest English-speaking church to your location, and possibly the easiest to get to, would be new life Baptist Church. It is right off of the Formosa Boulevard subway stop. However we would be very happy to help you find our location. If you were to take the subway To the Kaohsiung arena station, from there you have a couple of options. You could rent one of the cities bicycles for free and ride the bicycle several blocks to our church. Another option is to simply walk there, which I do pretty often. my email is michaelhaggard@mac.com so send me a private email and we can work out simple directions.

  8. hello Pastor

  9. Hi there, my husband and I are travelling around Taiwan and we may be in your city over Christmas Day. Just wondering if you have a service worship and fellowship we might be able to join in on? Uncertain at this point if we will still be there but just checking our options if we are. Look forward to hearing from you.
    God Bless
